Jeffery Eugene Myers, age 72, of Machesney Park, Illinois passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 19, 2026. He was born June 8, 1953 to Bob and Nancy Myers in Valparaiso, Indiana. His family moved to Rockford approximately 1960. Jeff graduated from Guilford High School in 1971. He enlisted in the Navy in 1973 and was honorably discharged in 1977. He attended and graduated from SIU Carbondale in 1979. He married his wife, Mary Ann Myers in 1979 and they eventually moved back to Rockford. Jeff also completed his MBA at Rockford College in 1996.
Jeff’s career was mostly in sales for fluid power and hydraulic products. His last employment was at MTE Hydraulics of Rockford. Jeff had a passion for hunting, fishing, and golf, activities which he usually factored into family vacations.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Myers; sons, Jeremy (Stephanie) Myers of Belvidere and Jordan (Kari) Myers of DeKalb; grandchildren, Milania, Arianna, Charlotte, and Shane; and sisters, Bonnie (Donovan) Moore of Rockford and Linda (Tim) Carter of Rockford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Nancy Myers.
A visitation for Jeff will be held Tuesday, January 27 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a service to follow at 2:00 pm. Burial rites to follow.
