Joyce K. Wentz, 85, of Rockford, IL, passed away suddenly, Saturday, December 22, 2018. She was born July 2, 1933 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Gladys (Tierney) Troy. Joyce married the love of her life, Glen Wentz, Jr., on September 1, 1951 in Rockford. She was employed at Counselor for many years, retiring in 1994. Joyce loved to play bingo and donating to casinos whenever she could. She liked traveling to Florida and going on shopping trips with her daughters. Most of all, she loved her family, especially spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joyce is loved and missed by her husband of 67 years, Glen; children, David (Sarah Enslow) Wentz, Michael (Dody) Wentz, DeAnn (John) Fultz, Richard (Darlene) Wentz, and Kathryn (Bob) Zadek; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Valerie Bissman.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a visitation before the service starting at 1:00 p.m. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Lifescape.
