Kay M. McCluskey, 82, of Loves Park IL, passed away January 7, 2021 with her loving family beside her. She was born on June 29, 1938 in Rockford to Harley and Eldora (Kurth) Hamilton. She was a devout Catholic, and a member of St. Bridget’s Church of Loves Park. In February of 1965 she married the love of her life Ken McCluskey. Together they shared 6 children and 55 loving years in marriage. Kay was a talented cook, and found enjoyment in providing meals for her family. She deeply loved her husband, children, and her puppies. Kay collected gadgets, and loved to try out infomercial products. She enjoyed old western movies, and reading her magazines for entertainment. Family gatherings were precious to Kay, and she loved the memories made around the Christmas Holidays.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ken; their children, Troy McCluskey, David (Melinda) McCluskey, Dennis McCluskey, Mary (Rusty) Puhl, Joe McCluskey, and Jennifer (Jason) Ergle. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
She is predeceased by her parents; Harley and Eldora Hamilton, and her brother; Harold “Butch” Hamilton.
A limited walk through visitation for Kay will be held January 14 from 9 to 10am at Sunset Funeral Home Located at 8800 N. Alpine Rd. Machesney Park IL 61115. Funeral services are private to family with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
