Lois Eva Anderson, age 97, of Machesney Park, Illinois passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025. She was born March 20, 1928 to August and Eva (Steeves) Grapentin in Princeton, Minnesota. Lois graduated from Princeton High School in Minnesota. She was a member of the G-PACT in town and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary.
Lois enjoyed traveling, she went to all 50 states and multiple countries. She enjoyed going on bus tours, casino trips, and playing BINGO. Most of all, Lois loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Lois is survived by her son, Larry (Loretta) Anderson; grandchildren, Connie (Todd) Harms, Brian (Trisha) Anderson, and Kevin (Mary) Anderson; great-grandchildren, Courtney (Grant) Brewer, Kirstin (Anthony) Busse, Blake Anderson, Justin (Taylor) Anderson, and Trent Anderson; and great-great-grandchildren, Violet Brewer and Amelia Busse.
She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Eva Grapentin; and siblings, Grace, August, and Iris.
A visitation for Lois will be held from 9:00 am to 10:30 am on Thursday, July 17 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, Illinois, 61115. A service will follow at 10:30 am. Burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
