Mary D. Larson

Mary D. Larson, 93, of Machesney Park passed away Tuesday April 27, 2021 at Swedish American Hospital. Mary was born on February 8, 1928 in Millbank, S.D., the daughter of Axel and Helga Anderson. Mary married Carl “Bob” Larson on November 24, 1945 and he preceded her in death on March 9, 1998. Mary was affiliated with the Methodist Church and a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. Mary loved her animals, she loved to read, sew, her flowers and watching the birds. Her greatest joy was spending time with all her family.

Mary is survived by her children: Barbara A. (Harold) Johnson, Darrell R. (Cathy) Larson, Nancy M. (Brian) Vurnovas and Karen F. (Scott) Johnson; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl, brothers Stanley Hentila and Lloyd Anderson; sister Faye Miller.

Cremation rites have been accorded and private family inurnment will be at a later date.
