Maureen D. Kessling

Maureen D. Kessling, 68, of Machesney Park passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Javon Bea in Rockford. Maureen was born on November 20, 1951 in Grand Forks, N.D., the daughter of Marshall Duane and Marjorie (Jepsen) Bentley. Maureen married Larry A. Kessling on October 14, 1977. Maureen was an avid Karaoke singer and loved being with her “band sisters” singing in groups whenever they could. She enjoyed reading, arts and crafts. Her greatest love was spending time with her family.

Maureen is survived by her husband of 42 years, Larry; sons: Paul (Elizabeth) Goodwin, Chris (Theresa) Kessling and Michael Kessling; grandchildren: Shelby Goodwin, Tyler Goodwin, Taylor Goodwin, Justina Kessling, Jade Kessling, Kayla Howard and Larry Kessling, Jr.; great-grandchild Wyatt Lee Howard; 2 nephews Scott and Brian Bentley.

Maureen was preceded in death by her parents Marshall and Marjorie, son Christopher Goodwin, step-mother Edith Bentley and brother Mark Bentley.

Visitation for Maureen will be Saturday, July 25, 2020 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home 8800 N. Alpine Road in Machesney Park; a memorial service to celebrate Maureen’s life will follow. Live stream will be 3:00 pm at www.facebook.com/sunsetfuneralhomeIL
