

Milton J. "Muck" Wengert, 87, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away peacefully, Tuesday evening, January 6, 2026. He was born March 17, 1938 in Rockford, IL, the son of Jeffery "Ted" and Violet (Henze) Wengert. Milton served in the United States Air Force from 1955-1958. He married Emily Ross on May 28, 1960. Muck was employed at Chrysler as an electrician until retirement. After retiring, he could be found on many local golf courses. Muck enjoyed traveling to the Upper Peninsula to spend time at the family cabin where he liked sitting around the campfire with a cold beverage. He was a talented woodworker and made elaborate creations, especially bird houses. Milton will be remembered as being the life of the party and will truly be missed.
Milton is survived by his wife of 65 years, Emily; children, Patrick (Kristen) Wengert, Paul Wengert, Ted Wengert and Ken (Ken Bartelt) Wengert; granddaughters, Tory and Abbey; sister, Sylvia Larson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings, Betty Seiter, Joanne Tolmie and Denis Wengert.
