Patricia L. Whelchel, 61, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away Monday evening, November 1, 2021 after a long illness. She was born October 28, 1960 in Dubois, PA, the daughter of Elbert and Amelia (Evans) Rucker. Patricia received her GED in 1988. She married her soulmate, Michael Whelchel on February 2, 1993 at Firstborn Ministries in Loves Park. She was employed at Rockford Tool Craft since 2012. Patricia enjoyed listening to music and shopping. Most of all, She loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and taking them to the movies. Patricia was the matriarch of our family and will truly be missed.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Michael; her daughters, Amanda (Jose) Leanos of Machesney Park, Danielle (Steve) White of Belvidere, Heather (Cason) Lee of Beloit; step-daughters, Christina (Nate) Yater of Machesney Park, and Pamela (Brody) Elvin of Rockford; 12 grandchildren, Isaiah, Bobby, Kyla, Alex, Andrew, Alana, Braeden, Aryah, Bentley, Kelsi, Kenzie and Ethan; 3 great-grandchildren, Braxtynn, Brodi and Violet; 4 brothers; 1 sister and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
