Patrick Thomas Bentley, 39, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019. Patrick was born on July 11, 1979 in Rockford, the son of Thomas K. and Mary E. (Seelye) Bentley. Patrick was a member of St. Peter’s Cathedral Church and employed with U. S. Xpress. Patrick attended St. Peter’s School, Boylan High School, Rock Valley College and the University of Colorado. He loved fishing with his dad, brother and son. Patrick also loved playing chess with son Nicholas and watching World War II documentaries together. Patrick will be remembered by his kind, generous personality and his love for his family.
Patrick is survived by his son Nicholas Bentley; parents Thomas and Mary Bentley; brother Michael Bentley.
Patrick was preceded in death by his grandparents, 2 aunts and 1 uncle.
Mass to celebrate Patrick’s life will be 11:00 am on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at St. Peter’s Cathedral 1243 N. Church St. in Rockford; visitation for Patrick will be at the church from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Sunset Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
