On November 6, 1987, he married the love of his life, Ardele (Anderson) Rathke.
Richard worked for Imperial Components for 30 years and Atlas for 5. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Loves Park, a committee member of Candlewick Lake, and a member of the Loyal Order of The Moose.
Richard leaves to cherish his memory, his wife; parents; sisters, Bev and Barb Rathke; son, Daniel (Billie) Swatek; daughters, Maricka, April, and Wendy; grandchildren, Sophia, Josie, Courtney, Brock, Olivia; and several loving friends.
Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Saturday February 16, 2013, at First Baptist Church, 718 Harlem Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115, . Pastor Larry Wells officiating. Visitation 9:30 till the time of service.
