Robert L. Bowen, 81, of Rockford, IL passed away on November 12, 2022. Bob was born in Osseo, Wisconsin on September 15, 1941 to Leo and Eileen Bowen. In 1959 Bob graduated from Harlem High School and went on to work for Barber-Colman until finding his true passion in the Postal Service where he worked from 1990 to 2005 before retiring. Bob married the love of his life Elsie on October 27, 1973. They shared over 40 beautiful years of marriage together before her passing in 2017. Bob was a huge Cubs fan and loved the outdoors; enjoying, fishing, camping, gardening, and golfing.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Kristy Bowen and Rebecca (Chris) Webster; siblings, Richard, Rodney, and Diane. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Bowen; parents, Leo and Eileen Bowen; siblings, Ronald and Sandra.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 1pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 2pm at Sunset Funeral Home (8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL 61114). Inurnment will take place following the Services in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In Lieu of Flowers donations can be made to the family.
