Ruth E. Bruening, 84, of Rockford IL, passed away at Crimson Point Assisted Living Center on February 3, 2011. Ruth was born on August 26, 1926 in Marengo, IL. Ruth attended Marengo High School in Marengo IL. Ruth was a member of First Congregational Church, in Carpentersville, IL, where she was very active. Ruth loved spending time with her family, playing cards, and traveling. She is survived by her sister; Alyce Fairchild, of Battle Creek, MI, her son; Robert (Janet) Bruening, of Belvidere, IL, daughter; Pam Richardson, of MT. Vernon , WA, three grand children; Shari Bruening, of Belvidere, IL, Jennifer (Jeremy) Satalic, of Carson City, NV, and Kate Richardson, of Mt. Vernon, WA. One great-grandson; Aiden Bruening of Belvidere, IL. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, of 64 years; Delmont W. Bruening, her brother; Glenn, her sister; Ethel, and a son-in-law; Robert Richardson. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Crimson Point Assisted Living Center on 7130 Crimson Ridge Dr. Rockford, IL 61107. Chaplain.
