Sarah "Sally" (Crabill) Lynch

Sarah “Sally” (Crabill) Lynch, 90, passed away Monday July 3, 2017 at Alden Alma Nelson Nursing Home in Rockford. Sarah was born on September 14, 1926 in La Harpe, IL to Martha (Harrington) and Joseph Crabill. Sarah moved to Davenport, IA then to Rock Island, IL where she attended schools, graduating from Rock Island High School in 1944. She married Lyle Lynch that same year. They had two children, John (Cindy) Lynch of DuQuoin and Carol Lynch. They then moved to Rockford, IL and in 1995 they retired and moved to Christopher, IL. Sarah returned to Rockford after the death of her husband Lyle in 2000. She has been a telephone operator and secretary; active in her church and drama club. Sarah is a member of Third Presbyterian Church in Rockford. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son John, daughter Carol, two sisters and a nephew. Sarah is survived by her daughter-in-law Cindy, grandchildren Mitchell Lynch, Genny (Lynch) Peterson, Natalie Juhl and six great-grandchildren.

Per Sarah’s wishes, her body has been donated to science with Sunset Funeral Home in Machesney Park assisting the family with arrangements. A memorial fund will be established in Sarah’s name at Third Presbyterian Church and a memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
