

Stanley D. Hirth, 59, Cherry Valley, passed away at 7:45 am on Thursday, July 4, 2013 surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle with cancer. In true Stan fashion, he might have missed his birthday by a week, but he went out with a Bang on July 4th.
Born July 11, 1953, in Rockford, Il, son to Stanley and Betty (Elizabeth) Hirth Sr. Lived most of his life in the Cherry Valley area. He grew up working the rodeo circuit as a Bronc Rider; he later became a welder with Sheet Metal Workers Local 219 for more than 30 years.
He was a free spirit who loved outdoors, wildlife, Harleys, good times, and friends.
Survivors include: Mother; Betty (Elizabeth) Hirth of Rockford; Sister, Barb (Barbara) Hirth of Rockford; Son, Cole Hirth of Rockford; a very special grandson, Kamren Wilkinson of Rockford; two nieces, Liza (Elizabeth) and Ray Hunter of Roscoe, Becky (Rebecca) Hirth of Rockford; and a very special great nephew, Gauge Hunter of Roscoe.
Predeceased by his father, Stan (Stanley) Hirth Sr in 1995; Aunt and Uncle Don and Helen Johnson; grandparents and great grandparents; and special friend, Emma Carroll.

Funeral Services will be at 2pm, Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park. Reverend Ron Meyer will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 1pm to time of service.
Celebrate Stan’s life by riding Harley or Horse, all welcome. Come in jeans, that is the only way he would want it.
