Steve was a great associate and very valuable member of our team.  We will miss him very much.  He always had a smile and some kind words for every associate who worked along side him.

I knew Steve from Home Depot.  Even though I didn't work directly with him, every time we met, he greeted me with a friendly smile and always asked how I was doing.  People like Steve make the world a better place and he will be missed by many.

Steve was the very first officer that I went on a ride along and training. Hexwoukd pull jokes on everyone in the office. He was a great guy and will be missed

Steve was a great guy and coworker.  He always had a great sense of humor at work.  I would run into him occasionally at the SMSF club for breakfast or the picnics.  Steve you will be missed.  My condolences to the family.

I worked with Steve for 24 years at the Park District. We kept in contact after his retirement in 2005. We met several time for breakfast and talk about the working years we spent together. Steve was a true friend and he will be missed by all of us that knew him.

I remember Steve and his siblings from 22nd St.  We played together whenever they visited Grandpa and Grandma Uppenkamp next door.  He was always funny and informative, someone I looked up to.

I worked alongside Steve at the Park Dist. P.D. from 1987 until his retirement in 2005. I always knew him to be a kind-hearted individual, always with a smile and willing to talk your ear off with all sorts of funny stories. Since his retirement I had a beer or two with him at SMSF club and park functions where he continued to spread his good cheer to anyone who'd listen. He was a good man and will be missed.

Steve was a quality guy and a good partner. Rest in peace Officer, Deputy, Sergeant and friend.  I will catch up with you down the road.  Save me a spot.

Steve had a sense of humor that would not quit!  Those who heard the story of how they invented Swedish Pancakes know what I mean.  He had you riveted til the end, lol!  When I found out it was a joke I was rolling with laughter!  He was a man of great honor and kindness, with a smile and a laugh!  He will be greatly missed!  Heaven has been blessed with an awesome Angel.  He will be truly missed....

The best part of mornings at the park district was coming in and hearing all the old stories Steve was a great guy to work with and ride with I know heaven is a better place with him RIP buddy

I knew Steve from Home Depot.  Since I usually work the evening shift I would see Steve often.  I always enjoyed asking him about his officer years and talking to him about how our society has changed and is changing.  He was always able to add insight and details to events taking place in our society.  I will miss his humor.

I worked with Steve in the early 80's and then worked alongside him when he was a county deputy and a police officer at the Park District.  Steve was always a kind and gentle man.  A lot of fun to work with and he will be greatly missed.

Steve always had stories to share. We worked together at Home Depot. He was always kind to me and fun to be around. Steve was a hard working man and a proud man. He spoke highly of his family and loved life. Steve you will be so missed. It was a pleasure and an honor to have met you and worked with you. You walk with God now. Prayers go out to your family.
