Steven S. Park, 84, of Rockford, passed away peacefully, Thursday August 1, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 10, 1935 in Korea, the son of Mal Om and Pum (Im) Park. Steven married Betty Yang on December 12, 1957 in Korea. He was a devoted Christian man who belonged to Rockford Presbyterian Korean Church. Steven was employed as a technician for over 25 years at Woodward Governor. He had a passion for woodworking, and collecting artifacts and books. Steven was the patriarch of our family and will truly be missed.
Steven is loved by his wife, Betty; children, John Park, Ann Park, Cathy (Yong Myong) Park, and Michael Park; grandchildren, Jennie (Stelios Wilson), Hannah, Justin, Danny, Misa, Sydney and Subin; siblings, Joseph (Norma) Anthony, Karen (Thomas) Yu, Sandy (Brad) Shin, and Jason (Nancy) Park; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115. A visitation will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
