Vera C. Helscher/Zick, 87, of Rockford died Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Loyalton of Rockford. Born December 13, 1922 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of William and Edna (Jungkans) Hannemann. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Belvidere, IL. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, reading, doing crossword puzzles, sewing, shopping and most of all spending time with her family. Vera married Finian J. Helscher December 21, 1944; he died September 15, 1996. She later married Leonard O. Zick December 10, 1997, he died February 4, 2003. Survivors include her daughter Linda (Carl) Jurgens of Belvidere, grandchildren Tracy, John, Paul and Daniel Jurgens. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother William Hannemann II. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1045 Belvidere Road, Belvidere, IL. Visitation will be from 9-10:00 at the Church.
