

MACON – A. J. Wrye, 79, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with burial in Middle Georgia Memory Gardens. Father Allen McDonald will officiate. The family will meet friends on Friday from 6 – 9 p.m. at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street.
Mr. Wrye, son of the late Adrian Raymond Wrye and Bessie Evans Wrye, was born in Milan and had lived in Macon most of his life. He served with the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a Leader retired from Armstrong World Industries after fifty years’ service. Mr. Wrye was preceded in death by his wife, Therese’ Rondeau Wrye and by a brother, Edward Wrye. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include his sons, Allen (Kay) Wrye, Sr. of Dry Branch and Donald (Kathy) Wrye, Sr. of Augusta; his grandchildren, Allen (Elizabeth) Wrye, Jr., Kevin (Jessica) Wrye, Alena (Troy) Evans, Donald (Heather) Wrye, Jr., Steve Wrye and Ronnie (Dana) Wrye; several great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; his sisters, Nita Pruitt and Stella Wrye; his brothers, Ernest Wrye and Randall Wrye; several nieces and nephews and his loyal companion, his dog, Precious.
Snow’s Memorial Chapel Funeral and Cremation Services, Cherry Street has charge of arrangements.
