

Benjamin Edwin Purvis quietly entered his heavenly home Friday evening surrounded by numerous loved ones. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Rev. Ronnie Griffin, Rev. Billy Lowe and Rev. Tim Long will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6 until 8 PM Monday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono and may be contacted at the residence of Rhonda Gail and William Gleaton.
Mr. Purvis was born in Telfair County, November 25, 1923, the son of the late William R. and Lula Clark Purvis. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, 3 sisters and a great-grandson, Caleb Riley Gleaton.
Mr. Purvis retired from Gordon Bush Tire Company with 35 years of service and was a member of Shurlington Church of the Nazarene.
Mr. Purvis is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Frances Ann Purvis; children, Rhonda Gail & William Gleaton & Gene & Lisa Purvis; grandsons, Ben Gleaton (Sherry), Kenny Gleaton, Daryn Gleaton (Lajoy), great-grandchildren, Molly, Shelby, Gabe, Isaac and Shaelyn Gleaton; sister, Lillian Harville(Billy Joe), brother, Oscar Purvis (Sue) and sister-in-law, Elouise Purvis.
