

Bobbie Sue Davis Meeks, 87, passed away on Thursday, December 11 at a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at Ingleside Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 17 at 10 a.m. with the Dr. Mark Hudgins officiating. Burial will be at 3p.m. at Rosemary Baptist Church Cemetery in Live Oak, Florida. The family will greet friends at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday. The family requests that donations be made to Ingleside Baptist Church – Foreign Mission Fund, 834 Wimbish Road, Macon 31204.
Bobbie Sue was born in Anderson, South Carolina to the late Pauline Dowis Davis and Miles Andrew Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Avery Randall Meeks. Bobbie Sue was an active member of Ingleside Baptist Church where she served on the Congregational Care team for many years. She worked for the Department of the Navy at MIAD during World War II. Bobbie Sue was retired from Emma Love Elementary in Nassau County, Florida. She was known for her smile and sweet spirit, she enjoyed traveling, reading and was a witty story teller.
Survivors include her children: Randall (Helen) Meeks of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Lorraine (Stephen) McWhorter of Macon; grandchildren, Daniel (Sarah) McWhorter of Tulsa, OK, Philip McWhorter of Washington, D.C., Anna McWhorter of Atlanta, Sam McWhorter of Macon; Lara, Brenna and Kayla Meeks of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; great-grandchild, Avery and Laurel McWhorter; brother, Ray (Pauline) Davis, and numerous nieces and nephews.
