Carl was born in Byron, Georgia on August 24, 1946 to the late Carl Eliot Puckett, Sr. and Esther McCoy Puckett. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Liberty United Methodist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The Rev. Wayne Anthony will officiate. The family will meet friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Thursday at the church. The family asks that donations be given to Liberty United Methodist Church Missions and Ministry Campaign at 6511 Houston Road, Macon, GA 31216.
He was a 1964 graduate of Willingham High School and a 1968 graduate of the University of Georgia. Carl was currently serving as Lay Leader for Liberty and considered it a privilege and honor to have been given that responsibility taking his role very seriously. Carl served as Director for the Upward Sports Program at Liberty since 2011. He taught the Youth Sunday School Class for thirty years and was a faithful member of Liberty United Methodist Men. He served in the Army National Guard from 1968 to 1974 and in 2010 retired as Field Engineer for Insurance Services Office.
His family asks that Carl be remembered for his faithful service to his Lord, his church, his farm, his family and his country.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of forty years, Rosalyn, his daughter, Jennifer, his son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Abby, his sister and brother-in-law Carole and Hiram Hancock, and his nephew, Mark Hancock.
