Buddy Sims, 80, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at his residence after a brief illness and surrounded by his devoted family. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Father David Koetter will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m., with Prayer Service at 6 p.m. on Sunday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono. Buddy would ask that you dress comfortably and cool in this heat.
Buddy had a long and fruitful life. He played music in his spare time with his music buddies. He had many friends over the years and always had great stories to tell. When you remember him, remember his corny jokes, his love for his wife and kids, his music and his charity work. He loved God and was the head of his family. Buddy will be missed by all who knew him.
Because of his love for those who serve in the Military, how fitting it is for him to have left us on the 4th of July. Buddy served in Germany with the U. S. Army. He was retired from Brown and Williamson after thirty-two years.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Denise Sims; two sons, Gary and Eric and two daughters, Karen and Lisa; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
