

Tulsa, OK - Frances Hartley McClung, 88 (formerly of Macon, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, July 2, 2012 at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue with the Rev. Jimmy Corbitt officiating. Burial will be private for the family in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 1 p.m. to service time on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, GA 31201 or to your favorite charity.
Mrs. McClung, wife of the late S. Boyce McClung, was born in Macon the daughter of the late Hardy Pate Hartley and Vandora Evans Hartley and lived in Macon her entire life before moving to Oklahoma to be near her family. She was a graduate of Miller High School and Crandall Business College and retired from Sears Service Center. Mrs. McClung was a member of Sears Retiree’s Club, the American Business Women’s Association and the recipient of Woman of the year award. She was a loyal volunteer for the American Cancer Society and Reach for Recovery, receiving the Circle of Friends Award from the American Cancer Society, Bibb County Unit. Mrs. McClung was a member of West Highland Baptist Church where she was a member of the LOVE Sunday School Class, taught in the Children’s Sunday School and had served as Director of the Pre-school Sunday School Department. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert David McClung.
Survivors include the family she cherished, her son, Dr. Samuel Boyce McClung, Jr. of Tucson, AZ; her daughter and son-in-law, Kay M. and Michael J. Bassett of Broken Arrow, OK; her grandsons and their wives, Michael David Bassett and Kellie of Bixby, OK and Brian Hartley Bassett and Jami of Coweta, OK; her great grandchildren, Haleigh Marie Bassett, Averee Kahleel Bassett, Tyler Hartley Bassett, Emmalee Sloan Bassett and William Joseph Bassett; her sister, Eloise Hunt of Macon and numerous nieces and nephews.
