James Boyd Parks Sr., 70, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Deacon Don Coates will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 until 6PM Sunday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street. Mr. Parks was born in Salisbury, NC the son of the late Betty Jean Wyrick Parks and William John Parks and was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Allen Parks and brother, Johnny Parks. He was a retired engineer with Norfolk Southern Railroad and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Mr. Parks is survived by his wife, Patricia Tanner Parks; children, Sandra (Bert) Rozier, James B. Parks Jr., Rachel (William) Whiddon, Cheryl (Robbie) Story, and Cody (Ashley) Parks “nephew”; grandchildren, WilliamAllen, Josie, Draven, Anna, and Brooklynn; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
