

Juanita Rowe Cannon, 86, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, February 15, 2016. She was a Godly woman who loved her family and was a true prayer warrior. A service will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 2:00 PM in Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street in Macon. Rev. Stephen N. Johnson will officiate and burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM.
Nita was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia on March 31, 1929 on Easter Sunday. She was a longtime member of Mabel White Baptist Church where she was active in the Friendship Sunday School Class and in the Sam Waldron WMU group. A charter member of the Coliseum Hospital Senior Friends, she enjoyed volunteering for many years. She loved her family and friends and generously shared her time and good cooking on countless celebrations and special occasions.
Nita is preceded in death by her husband, James H. Cannon and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S.C. Rowe. Cherishing her smile and cheerful laughter are her surviving children, Charles “Chuck” Cannon, Gail (Pat) Geck, and Linda (Alphie) Spears all of Macon; and the blessing of seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Mark) Ott, Kacey Campuzano, Holly (Patrick) Ravita, Melissa (Jason) Ethridge, Maggie (Garin) Flanders, Tripp (Autumn) Spears, and Amanda Cannon; and six great-grandchildren.
