

SARASOTA, FL – Margery Twilley Collins, 85, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Vineville United Methodist Church. Burial will be private at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Dr. Marcus Tripp and Rev. Jimmy Duke will officiate. The family will greet friends following the memorial service at the church and asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vineville United Methodist Church, Organ Fund, 2045 Vineville Avenue, Macon, GA 31204 or to the Loveland Center, 157 S. Havana Road, Venice, FL 34292. The Loveland Center is where her grandson, John, attends a program for disabled adults.
Mrs. Collins was born in Jewell, Georgia and lived most of her life in Macon before recently moving to Sarasota to be with her family. She was retired from Robins Air Force Base after 41 years of service. Mrs. Collins was a member of Vineville United Methodist Church, the Ed Cook Sunday School Class and the Macon Women’s Club. She was the daughter of the late William Leon Twilley, Sr. and Minnie Daisy Butler Twilley.
Mrs. Collins is survived by her daughter, Beverly C. (Jack) Gerber of Sarasota, FL; grandson, John Gerber of Sarasota, FL; a number of nieces and nephews including, Dorothy J. (Don) Carter and their son, Michael S. Carter all of Decatur, GA.
