

Macon, GA – Marion Wade, age 78, passed away Saturday, May 25th, at Pine Pointe Hospice surrounded by his loving family. Marion was born in West Point, GA to the late Paul H. & Barbara B. Wade and was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph C. Wade and Harry P.Wade. Marion held a great love and respect for his country and proudly served in the 48th Georgia National Guard located in Macon; the Navy Air Reserve out of Marietta GA; and as part of the 51st FIW/USAF during the Korean War. He would go on to receive an Honorable Discharge in 1957 as a Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force. He retired as Vice President from Butler Auto Supply Co. in Macon GA. Marion was known as a man of faith and a proud Christian who served as a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church in Milledgeville GA. Marion remained an active member of the American Legion Post in Milledgeville GA and was also a former President of the Southside Optimist Club in Macon GA. He was an outdoorsman who loved the water and loved fishing even more. He liked to travel, go camping, and play guitar while singing his favorite songs. Most of all, he enjoyed being around family and friends.
He is survived by the love of his life, and wife of 60 years, Beverly Alexander Wade of Macon. Siblings, Gerald (Betty) Wade of Jasper, GA. and Barbara Ann (Bernie) Carbon of Wichita KS. Sons, Steve (Harriet) Wade of Smarr, and David (Shelley) Wade of Macon. Grandchildren, Melissa (Sheldon) Hulsey of Forsyth, SSgt Joshua Wade (US Army, 101st Airborne Div., 1st Brigade Combat Team, 426th Brigade Support Battalion, Fort Campbell, KY), SSgt Matthew (Heather) Wade (US Air Force, 1st Special Operations Wing, 1st Special Operations Group, 11th Intelligence Squadron, Hurlburt Field, FL), and Tyler Wade of Macon. He was also a proud grandfather to 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 28th at Snows Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue, Macon, GA from 6-8PM. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 29th at GA Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA at 11:00 AM. Reverend Joel Embry and Reverend Liza Marler will officiate.
