
Marvin Franklin Brown, 99, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 23 at 1 p.m. in Highland Hills Baptist Church with the Dr. Jake Hall and Dr. Jim Bruner officiating. The Men’s Bible Class will be honorary pallbearers. Burial will be private. The family may be contacted at the residence or following the Celebration of Life service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Highland Hills Baptist Church – Lottie Moon Offering, 1370 Briarcliff Road, Macon, 31211.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy T. Brown, and his sister, Fannie Lee Souther. He was a graduate of Lanier High School. Mr. Brown was a veteran of the Army having served in WWII. Mr. Brown was retired from National Life and Accident Insurance Company. He was a baliff for Bibb County retiring from that as Assistant Chief Baliff. He was a member of Highland Hills Baptist Church and the Men’s Bible Class.
Survivors include his daughter, Nancy E. Brown; his son, Larry (Sandra) Brown; grandchildren, Dr. Barbara (Zac) Crosby, Clifford M. (Rebecca) Brown; great-grandchildren, Darrin and Trent Brown, Chloe, Courtney and Cameron Crosby; nephew, Max Harper.
