

Mary Ann Hammonds, passed away at her residence on Thursday, October 31st. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 4th at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church and burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. A Rosary will be said Sunday, November 3rd at 6:30 p.m. at Snow’s Chapel on Cherry Street. The family will receive friends following the Rosary from 7 – 8 p.m. Father Dawid Kwiatkowski will officiate. Those who wish may make donations to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 830 Poplar St., Macon, 31201 or Mount de Sales Academy, 851 Orange St., Macon, 31201.
Mrs. Hammonds was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Agnes McKenna Hatcher and Frederick Edward Hatcher. She was predeceased by her husband, Joe D. Hammonds and a brother, Frederick E. Hatcher, Jr. Mary Ann attended Mount de Sales Academy and was retired from the Bibb County Board of Education. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Mrs. Hammonds is survived by her children: Joe Darrell “Joey” (Gina) Hammonds, Jr. of Warner Robins; Kathy (Cliff) Bateman of Byron and Beth (Johnny) McIlmail of Belmont, NC; brothers: Edgar Hatcher of Macon, Duck (Jody) Hatcher of Milledgeville and Ricky (Lynn) Hatcher of Macon; sister, Jean (Eddie) Turner of Atlanta; sister-in-law, Elaine Hatcher of Macon; seven grandchildren: Jennifer Hames, Annie McIlmail, Darrell, Amanda and Will Hammonds, Mary Elizabeth and Trey Bateman; great grandsons: Mathew Drum and Riley Hammonds, and numerous nieces and nephews.
