

Mary Sanders Holleman, 90, passed away Friday, October 28, 2016. Funeral services will be private. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 PM Tuesday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Centenary United Methodist Church, 1290 College Street, Macon 31201 or Heartland Hospice, 3312 Northside Drive, D250, Macon 31210. The family would also like to thank Kimberly Walker for her kindness and excellent care of Mary through these many years.
Born in Cuthbert, Georgia on February 28, 1926, Mary was the daughter of the late Edd Griggs Sanders and Ollie Pearce Sanders. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Bernard Henry Holleman, Jr.
Mary graduated from Cuthbert High School and received her associate degree from the Macon Hospital in nursing in 1947. She later went to the University of North Carolina and obtained her certification in Public Health Nursing. Mary was a homemaker and a member of Centenary United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Wesley Sunday School Class. She loved gardening, the beach, and the Georgia Bulldogs.
Mary is survived by her two sons, Howard Sanders Holleman (Amelia) and Wayne Wallace Holleman (Darlene) both of Macon; grandchildren, Hendley Ross Holleman of Athens, Mary Del Holleman Crabb (Alex) of Atlanta, and Morgan Pearce Holleman of Forsyth; sister, Maxine Sanders Ward; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
