Michael Barry Melton

Michael Barry Melton, 78, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. The family will have a visitation on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, 1419 Bass Road, Macon GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tattnall Square Academy, 111 Trojan Trail, Macon GA 31210.

Barry was born on January 13, 1948, to the late David and Margaret Wells Melton. He retired from the Macon Water Authority as a supervisor. Barry also worked for the Macon Police Department for several years where he was a motorcycle cop. He enjoyed spending time with his Panera Breakfast Club, National Automatic Pistol Collectors Association and the Street Racers Club. Barry was an avid Georgia Bulldog and Tattnall Trojan Fan. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.

He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Michele Falduti Melton of Macon, daughter, Brooke (Ben) Garretson, grandchildren, Harris, Hayes, and Hawkins Garretson, Brody and Stella Melton, brother, Larry (Judy) Avant, mother-in-law, Jean Falduti, sisters-in-law, Maria Falduti Turner, Debbie (Scott) Smith, brother-in-law, Michael (Sara) Falduti, Jr., nieces and nephews, Brittney (Robert) Russell, Alexandria (Darin) Russell, Heather Smith, Sebastian Falduti and Lorenzo Falduti, Lance Avant and several great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
