Mindy M. Carswell, 52, won her final battle and returned Home on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Pine Pointe Hospice. A celebration of her life will be held from 2 – 4 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the home of Kay and Ronnie Farris. The family, according to Mindy’s wishes, asks that you wear your favorite jeans and shirt and plan to celebrate her life and her love for you. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a trust fund being set up for Ariele’s Mercer tuition.
Mindy, daughter of the late Louis Mitchell, was a lifelong resident of Macon and Lizella. She was a 1981 graduate of Southwest High School and was a Licensed Cosmetologist having worked at The James’ Gang and Jimmy Deloach Salon.
Most of all, Mindy was a devoted homemaker. Her heart was full of love for her family, her friends, and for her “Band Kids” at Rutland High School beginning in 2010 and continued. She received awards for her numerous volunteer hours as she fed the kids, drove them home from band practice, sponsored many celebrations, and fulfilled any need she could.
Left to cherish her memory and her love are her husband, Doug Carswell, Lizella; her precious daughter, Ariele Carswell, Lizella; her mother, Dee Mitchell, Lizella; her sister, Kay (Ronnie) Farris, Lizella; her niece, Natalie Farris, Lizella; her nephew, Nick (Kaitlyn) Farris, Lizella; her great nephew, Grayson, Lizella; her brother-in-law, Don (Heather) Carswell, Dublin; her nephews, Ross and Mat Carswell, Dublin; her uncle, Julius Mitchell, Byron; her uncle, Charlie E. (Dar) Gurr, of Colorado; several cousins, her cats, Alice, Adam, and Avi; and her band kids.
Our deepest appreciation goes to friends and staff at Pine Pointe Hospice for their love, their prayers and the compassionate and gentle care given Mindy in these last days. (The Family)
