

Ruby Beckworth Harrison, 91, entered Heaven Friday, December 11, 2015. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday in the First Baptist Church of Christ. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery and Revs. Scott Dickison, Jody Long, and Julie Long will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Christ, Building Fund, 511 High Place, Macon 31201 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
Mrs. Harrison was born in Mitchell, Georgia the daughter of the late Kate Daniel Beckworth and Arthur Beckworth. She was the widow of Luther Grady Harrison and was preceded in death by her sisters, Georgia Belle Walker, Maxie Riley, and Vivian Dobson. Mrs. Harrison was retired from the Bibb County Courthouse. She loved to cook for family and friends and was known for her beautiful seasonal crafts. Mrs. Harrison was a member of the First Baptist Church of Christ, a long-time member of the Faithful Sunday School Class, a member of the Sunshine Fellowship at Houston Heights Baptist Church and a member of the Georgia Power Ambassadors.
Mrs. Harrison is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Jill Harrison of Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law, Belinda and Renie Lewis of Lizella; grandchildren and their spouses, Brad and Becky Harrison, Scott and Anna Harrison, Dr. Laura Harrison, Heath and Celeste Lewis, Staff Sgt. Luke Lewis, Mark and Brenda Lewis, Joy and Santosh Bonala, Gracie Lewis, and Hope Lewis; 8 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and a cousin that was like a daughter, Carol Wheeler; a number of nieces and nephews.
