

MACON – Ruby Nell Summers, 83, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011 in a local hospital after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 23rd at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue with burial at 3:30 p.m. in Memory Hills Cemetery, Milledgeville. The Rev. Phil Bryant will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Summers, wife of the late Charles Raymond Summers, was born in Pelzer, SC the daughter of Benjamin Tillman Johnson and Mallie Rosalee Gambrell Johnson. She had lived in Macon since 1963 and was a member of Lawrence Drive Baptist Church. Mrs. Summers was a devoted homemaker and will be missed by family and friends who loved her dearly.
Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Lee Heath, Mary Ann Lyles (Terry Reich), Marie Elizabeth Smith (L. C. Phillips) and Judith Lynne Cunard (Bobby), all of Macon; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Turner (Bryan), Ethan Smith, Ephrem Smith, Jonathon Smith, Ronee Michelle LaManna (Robert), Jaime Evans (Phillip Smith), Megan Moore (Neal), Heather Murphy (Richard), Logan Walker; eleven great grandchildren; brother, Clarence Lee Johnson of South Carolina; sister, Audrey Tinsley of North Carolina; nephew, Butch West of Macon; niece, Sandy Hunter of Jacksonville, FL.
