She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Dempsey S. Brown, Jr. The two were high school sweethearts and married on December 22, 1962, at Vineville United Methodist Church, where she was a lifelong member.
Sandra graduated from A.L. Miller high school in 1961, and attended the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She was a devoted Georgia Bulldog football fan, and enjoyed tailgating and cheering on the Dawgs for many years. Sandra was actively involved in the Auxiliary to the Medical Association of Georgia, serving as the organization’s president in 1993-94. She received the Outstanding Citizen Award from the Bibb County Medical Society, in honor of her community service, and worked many years as office manager for her husband’s medical practice at Coliseum Hospital in Macon.
Sandra was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Brad Brown (Jan) and Kevin Brown (Angie); grandchildren, Amelia Barth (Addison), Griffin Brown, and Hunter Brown; and great granddaughter, Caroline Barth.
Sandra enjoyed celebrating special occasions, and made sure her family and friends felt remembered and loved, especially on their birthdays. She loved music and loved to dance, and hosted many fun-filled parties and events, festively decorating her home for every holiday. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, and spending time at her beach home in Amelia Island, Florida.
