

MACON, GA—Mrs. Sarah Terry Mathis, 92, joined the Lord on Sunday evening, December 26, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock on Thursday, December 30, in the chapel of Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. The Rev. Cile Mitchell and Rev. Dr. Bob Herrington will officiate. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock.
Mrs. Mathis, daughter of the late William Earl Terry, Sr. and Tiny Coleman Terry was born in Wilcox County, GA. She was a homemaker and active in her church. Mrs. Mathis and her husband were key members in the establishment of Bloomfield United Methodist Church, where she fellowshipped and was an active member of the Golden Rule Sunday School Class. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Doyle Oliver Mathis. As one of eleven children, she is also preceded in death by six sisters and four brothers.
Surviving Mrs. Mathis are her daughters, Donna (Robert) Ward of Clarkton, NC; Debbie (Robert) Herrington of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Cathy Harris, Christy Woody, Carla Hayes, Chad (Sara) Grubbs, Brandi Dudley; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Snow's Memorial Chapel Funeral & Cremation Service, Pio Nono Avenue, has charge of arrangements.
