Terry attended Sarasota High School. His many talents included a beautiful voice; he sang in an ensemble at his high school, in a Naval Choir, church choirs and even in a quartet. He received an Associate in Arts degree from Manatee Junior College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Technological University (now University of Central Florida). Terry proudly served in the United States Navy, a tenure he cut short to return home and care for his parents in their time of need – a testament to his devotion and character. His passion for service continued in Sarasota, Florida, where he protected his community as a dedicated police officer. Upon his retirement in 2004, he relocated to Macon to help care for his wife’s parents, further demonstrating his commitment to family.
A man of tradition and integrity, Terry was recognized by The International Supreme Council Order of Demolay for being a “25-year member,” and was also a member of the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, having recently received his 55 year certificate for his service. He was an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where his service included work on the church’s Finance Committee.
Terry enjoyed collecting coins, playing with his four-legged companions and watching endless episodes of NCIS on television.
