

VANCE LEROY CECIL, JR. MACON – Vance Leroy Cecil, Jr., 87, died Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at his residence. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2010 in Evergreen Cemetery, Athens. The family will meet friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Sunday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Central Georgia Chapter, Suite 201, 277 MLK, Jr. Boulevard, Macon 31201 or to the Ronald McDonald House, 1160 Forsyth Street, Macon 31201. Mr. Cecil, son of the late Vance Leroy Cecil, Sr. and Bessie Holt Cecil, was born in Fayetteville, AR and was a graduate of the University of Arkansas. He was a U. S. Army Veteran serving during World War II and was Physical Plant Manager retiring from the University of Georgia. Mr. Cecil was of the Baptist Faith and a Past President and District Governor of the Classic City Lions Club. Survivors include his wife, Wilma W. Cecil of Macon; his daughter, Ginger C.
