MACON – Vaughn Hickson Avera, 62, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2010. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street with a visitation following. Burial will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at Northview Cemetery in Dublin. Rev. Ron Holland will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P O Box 4406, Macon 31208.
Mr. Avera was born in Macon, Georgia and had lived in Middle Georgia for most of his life. He was retired from Parts Central as the inventory control manager and was a United States Army veteran. Mr. Avera was of the Baptist Faith and was a devoted husband and father. He was the son of the late Hickson and Bobbie Vaughn Avera.
Mr. Avera is survived by his wife, Patricia Holdbrooks Avera of Macon; son and daughter-in-law, David Michael Poole and Frances of Kennesaw; grandchildren, Lauren, Taylor, Dakota and Sean Poole.
