More than "special"!
You could get a lifetimes worth of knowledge, and experience by spending a day with Scoots!
He was the most generous, kind hearted, and interesting person that I have ever been blessed to know.  Such a joy to talk to, or be with.
He had so much love for his brothers, and of course his son. 
Always a proud gleam in his eyes when he spoke about each of them. 
Some of the greatest stories I've ever heard listening to him. 
I wish he had written a book, about all the things he experienced in his travels. Such a unique, and genuine guy. Looking forward to hearing many more stories from him again on the other side!

Skoots was MY BROTHER; not by blood, but by soul. No man ever touched my life more. My sincere thanks to the family for sending his ashes to me. It's the first thing I see every morning. I talk to him a lot every day. He hated that I was in hospice and I know in the back of his mind, he wanted to get the Green Room ready for me. We traded so many "war stories" over the years and I was so fortunate to spend a week with him in February. Had I known he'd be leaving so soon, I would have stayed there in Macon. It's where I wanted to pass anyway. My sincere love to the blood family, especially AJ, who is so kind to me even though my brain damage is getting worse and he's taking Skoots chore he promised me. God Bless you, AJ and God Speed, My Brother. Save me a stool and have a V&T & lung darts ready. I miss you so damn much.

Didn't know Skoots personally..Yet admire him for giving of himself to make an individual or group rise up to be better as people and craftsmen...Good on ya brother...RIP..Thank you for your gifts to this life..

What a unique and great guy. Have not seen Skoots in many years. But...I will always remember him. Rest my friend. 

I have so many happy memories of Warren who will always be 'Skoots' to me.  Over many years of meeting up at Deep Purple gigs he was always full of fun and a good friend.  
We really missed him when he left to return to a quieter life.

My wife Kathy and i first met Skoots in 1997 at a Deep Purple show and continued to meet him for many years to come. He was so warm, funny and caring. He took us in with open arms. I hope we will meet again one day. May you rest in peace Skoots.

If not for my friend Skoots my life would have been vastly different. Meeting Skoots  changed my entire life direction. If not for him I would never have been a roadie or a volunteer at the Big House. I would not have the vast number of friends that I have. I would never have had the access to music that I so enjoy.  All because of Skoots Lyndon my life has been fabulous. I loved him and will never forget him. Rest well my friend. 

We miss your surprise visits to watch tv, drink v&t’s and smoke heaters. During the virus we missed your hugs but always enjoyed your dark humor and wry wit. Was certainly hoping to resume card games in the not too distant future. Never got tired of the stories, no matter how many times we heard them. You brought us a lot joy and now heartache. On a selfish note, our world got much smaller and more boring. 
                                      

I was shocked and saddened this week to learn that my friend and Dixie Dregs drum tech and monitor ace, Skoots Lyndon, passed away. Skoots was the consummate band mate, always seeking perfection in everything he did. He was an extremely kind and generous human being, periodically checking in on me to see how my parents are doing and how life, in general, is faring. He also happened to be one of the best storytellers who ever graced our planet. His years of touring the globe with Deep Purple, Dixie Dregs, Steve Morse Band, and numerous other acts, created a vast library of colorful stories; truly amazing stories that only a wordsmith like Skoots could impart to an audience lucky enough to be in his presence. My memory is filled with moments like these, where I would be hanging on every word, completely engrossed, often in stitches, for hours on end. RIP Skoots. Your memory will live on in the hearts of all of us who were so fortunate to have you in our lives.

My brother from another mother...Big love and healing prayers to all the extended Lyndon family and brothers and sisters who were fortunate enough to have shared a relationship with him in any form.From eating dinner with Smiles and Miller and living in their home to fishing on the Satilla, to many miles on the road, to the " logical disagreements " to the listening ear when needed, the big love and help for the past 47 years...I Thanks you....safe journey across the bridge.I will try to use all I learned from you wisely...

From TD Tinsley Elementary, to Vine Ingle Little League to my roommate and Soundman in Athens we shared a lot. You’re loved by so many. I’ll miss you brother. Peace and love.... 

I worked with Skoots over the last 4 decades. I always loved having his wry wit and his ability to understand complex problems. He really could do anything he put his mind to, as he was as smart as any of the Lyndons.   I was disappointed when he decided he'd had enough of the road touring, but I understood,  but we luckily got one more chance to work together doing the Dixie Dregs reunion. Once again, he got stuck with a task which was outside his comfort zone, but he applied logic (I always loved that about him) and did a great job with the monitors and helping onstage.  I hope I can get to know his son, but for now I offer my condolences but also my encouragement that he was well loved and remembered always by his Dad. 

My deepest condolences to the Lyndon family. This world is a lesser place without Skoots. 
Rest peacefully my brother, you will be remembered.

To the Lyndon family, as you read these memories and condolences you will see everyone expressing how Skoots was so nice but you know that already as he was truly a southern gentleman and a boon to Macon music and music everywhere. I've known Skoots (still called him Warren most always) since we were getting into double-digit ages. I think at that age he, Buddy Greene and I were the shortest boys in school. There aren't many people who could say they were loved and respected as much as he was and these memorials should simply confirm that! Rest in Peace, Skoots!

Sending peace and comfort to the Lyndon family.  Skoots was not like any other person I know.  He gave the best hugs.  I will miss his sweet smile.

My deepest condolences to the Lyndon family, that I consider my family.  How do you describe Scoots and what he meant to me, hard to do. He made me smile with his wit, honesty, good conscious and intelligence. His observations were impeccable, a little hard nosed sometimes but always from his gut. He was a good man. I will miss his grand personality and loving ways, into the light, Scoots! See you on the other side.

Your quick smile, twinkling and mischievous eyes and big hugs will be what I will miss the most. Skoots, you were always so sweet to me. Praying for the Lyndon family through the coming days. RIP, sweet friend. 

You were one cool cat.  A true original that lived life to the fullest.  You will surely be missed. 

Wishing peace and comfort to the Lyndon Family.  You're in my thoughts and prayers!  Skoots was a special soul and bright light to everyone!  Always enjoyed talking to Skoots at the Big House and will miss his smile and funny jokes.  It was always great to see him because his presence was kind and joyful.  I'll miss Skoots! My wife and I had the pleasure of working with and socializing with Skoots for many years on the road with Deep Purple. Even after the road years we had Skoots to our many homes over the years and truly enjoyed him as family. He will be missed but never forgotten. I will miss you my precious friend.  I will miss our deep discussions of religion, music and humanity.  I will forever remember all the good times we've shared at shows and sharing meals.
