

MACON – William “Bill” J. Forget passed away at the Medical Center of Central Georgia on July 15, 2010. A Mass will be held on Monday, July 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 4074 Chambers Road, Macon. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Grande Ballroom of Carlyle Place from 3 to 5 p.m. on Monday, July 19th where friends may greet the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church Building Fund, 4074 Chambers Road, Macon, GA 31206 or to the Carlyle Place Employee Gift Fund, c/o RAC, 5300 Zebulon Road, Macon, GA 31210.
Born in Green Island, NY on October 28, 1936, he received a B.S. degree in Finance from Siena College, Loudonville, NY. He was employed by GE Capital, retiring in 1999 after thirty-seven years of service. He then became Executive Director of the Central GA Chapter of the American Red Cross, retiring in 2006.
Bill served as Chairman of the Board of the following organizations: Better Business Bureau, Volunteer Macon, Bibb County Unit of the American Cancer Society and the Macon, GA International Cherry Blossom Festival. He also served on the Boards of the American Red Cross, the March of Dimes, Family Advancement Ministries and was Finance Director at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He also served as Chairman of the Carlyle Place Resident Advisory Council where he and his wife have lived since 2001.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Connie, and children, Jeff, his wife, Patte of Colorado Springs, CO, Karen, her husband, Tom Davis of Timonium, MD and Michael, his wife, Dolores of Hatboro, PA; seven grandchildren, Rebecca and Bryan Forget, Caroline and Ben Davis and Jeannette, Justin and Michael Forget; sister, Arlene Dewan, Troy, NY and several nieces and nephews.
