

MACON – William Mimbs, 79, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at a local hospital. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Monty Febuary will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Mimbs, son of the late Ernest and Annie Mimbs, was born in Laurens County and served with the U. S. Army. Living in Macon most of his life, he was owner and operator of William Mimbs Roofing and was a member of the V.F.W. and D.A.V. Mr. Mimbs was a former member of Third Street Baptist Church and was presently a member of Cathedral of Christ Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of Deacons. He was preceded in death by his five brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include the family he treasured, his wife, Bobbie Jean Mimbs of Macon; his children, Ronnie and Cherie Bland, Williams Mimbs, Jr., Debbie and Paul Adams, Lynn and Tim Longaker and Vickie and Carl Bridger, all of Macon; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
