Thomas Arthur Wood

In his passing he leaves his soul mate and wife Mary-Evelyn Wood, his daughters Alicia Power and Kimberly Wood, son-in-law Adam Power, his two beloved grandsons Jackson James and Thomas James, his sisters Christine Creasey, Maureen Testa (Jared Price, Sandy Price), and Diane Humphrey (Missy Belscher, Sarah Leavell), His niece Shellie Gilbert and nephew Danny Gilbert, cousins and lifelong friends who he also considered his family. He also leaves his mother-in-law Joan Marotto and sister-in-laws Elayna Lesco (Tyler and Ashley Lesco) and Lynda Haag (Hannah Haag).

He joins in heaven his parents, father-in-law George Marotto, his sister Janice Dumond, and his brother Jimmy Wood.

Tom was born in Waterbury, CT to Joan and Arthur Wood on January 22nd, 1963. He attended Watertown High School, where he was honored in the football hall of fame. He graduated from Central Connecticut State University where he studied construction management. At Central Tom continued his love of athletics on the dive team with the love of his life Merv.

Tom and Merv married on November 18th, 1989. They created a loving family with their two daughters. Their love for each other is unmatched. Tom worked as a senior project manager at Walsh Construction. He was very dedicated to his job and was instrumental in building many roadways and bridges in Connecticut. Tom was passionate about fishing, the outdoors, sports, but mostly his family, especially his grandsons. If you knew “Woody” you were his family. One of the many ways he shared his love was through an organization called “Angel Ride” where he cycled across Connecticut raising money for the Hole In The Wall Gang, a camp for children with cancer, in honor of his brother.

We all will miss his infectious laugh, storytelling, big hugs, and love of life.

The service will be on Wednesday August 30th. Visitation from 10am – 1pm, short service at 1pm.
