As our family prepare to gather and celebrate the cherished memories of Bruce, we have heavy hearts, but we know that God is near and that His love and mercy will carry us Through yet another incredible loss. Bruce gave me my first title as “aunt". He was the first
grandchild in our family. We were close in age by four (4) years, and we played together.  I will treasure his infectious laugh, all past and most recent memories.  I have complete peace in the hope of seeing him again one day. Peace that surpasses all understanding as mentioned in Philippians 4.:7..  Rest well nephew, Bruce Angelo McQueen.🙏🏾❤️

I lost a friend, but the truth is he was more than that, he was my brother. The kind of brother life gives you. The kind you grow with, laugh with, and learn from.

What I’ll remember most is his spirit — steady, loyal, and real in a world that doesn’t always reward that. He showed up for people. He carried more than he ever said out loud. And even on the days when life hit him hard, he still found a way to make somebody else’s day lighter. Bam was human in the best way. And he left fingerprints on every space he touched.

I’m grateful for every conversation, every joke, every moment. Losing him hurts, but knowing him was a blessing I’ll carry forward.

Rest easy, my brother. Your name stays alive through the people who loved you, the stories we’ll keep telling, and the lessons you left behind. You mattered here. And you still matter now.

We had a lot of bullies in the Family, he wasn’t one of them.  He was always the calm reasoning Cat in the building.  He had a unique voice, diction, demeanor, and country as helll…haha!  That’s what I remember.  I had way more interactions with him when I was  younger looking up to my McQueen  heroes…the military and life kept us apart…he will be sorely missed.

My heart is heavy as I write this, because Bruce will be greatly missed.

Bruce was gifted in many ways, but I will always remember him for his kindness, his love, and his stories. He never sugar-coated his advice, but he always delivered it with compassion. He had a rare gift of making people feel seen, he could talk to a stranger as if he had known them for years. And his smile… it was priceless.

Bruce had been part of our family for many years, and with that time came countless memories. One of my favorites will always be his impressions, especially his Sheneneh Jenkins from Martin. He could have a whole room in stitches without even trying. That was Bruce: full of laughter, light, and life.

To me, he was safety. He was love. He was support. He was one of my biggest cheerleaders. He believed in me, and that belief carried me more times than he probably ever knew.

He loved his luxury cars, and I still smile thinking about the little red Corvette I gave him not long ago, such a simple thing, but it felt so him.

I thank God for Bruce’s amazing life and for the gift of having him as my brother-in-love. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, honesty, laughter, and deep love. He will be missed more than words can ever express.

Rest peacefully, Bruce.
You will always be part of us.

I idolized my big cousin Bruce. As a kid I remember spending time with him when we would come visit in Rock Island.  He was always protective of all his younger cousins.  He showed us how to lift weights. We wanted to be strong like him. I remember him taking us for rides in Aunt JoAnn's "deuce and a quarter".
What really made him so cool to me was how good he could play bass guitar. I wanted to play bass like him. He even gave me a bass but I never could play it like him. I'm gonna miss you BIG CUZ

I paid a surprise visit to my big brother, who had expressed a desire to see some water where he could potentially go fishing again. He jokingly remarked, “That’s too much water for me☺️.” Just seeing the smile on his face was priceless. I love and miss him dearly, but I know that the Lord loves him even more and has given him sweet rest.
