Doris Fay Hummel, age 68, of Madison Heights, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Doris was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Richard and Margie Pelc. She met the love of her life Mark Hummel and married on June 14th 2003 at Ferndale Methodist Church. This year they would have been celebrating their 20th anniversary.
Doris was known to be kind, joyful and pretty competitive, especially when playing a game of cards or a fun board game. She loved to travel to places like the Niagara Falls, Canada and had the best time when visiting her Aunt Fay in Camden Michigan. Doris enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and her favorite time of year was Christmas. She started playing Christmas music as soon as Halloween was over and if she could get away with it, she would play it sooner. Her favorite color was pink and she adored the movie The Pink Panther.
Doris is survived by her Husband Mark Hummel; her children, Vanessa Wilson, J.R. Wilson, Sarah (Dave) Cebulski, Seth (Roxanne) Wilson, and 9 Stepchildren, 28 Grandchildren, and 7 Great Grandchildren; Her Siblings Cathy (Matt) Davidson, Patricia (Gus) Zoppi, Karen (Brian) Storey, Sandra (Dennis) Knox, Tina Pelc and Sandra Fraley.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Laura and Ed Fraley.
A Visitation for Doris will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre Road, Madison Heights, MI 48071.
A visitation will continue Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 10:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00AM at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre Road, Madison Heights, MI 48071.
A Graveside Service will occur Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 12:30 PM at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI 48442.
