Elizabeth Fay Dowding

Elizabeth Fay Dowding of Clawson, Michigan passed away on March 27, 2019, at the age of 88. Fay was a loving wife of the late Arthur W. Dowding; loving mother of David A. (Connie) Dowding, the late Daniel A. Dowding, Timothy W. Dowding and Matthew F. Dowding. Also cherished grandmother of Stacy, Daniel, William, Christopher, Jacqueline and James (Alainah) Dowding. Great grandmother of Steven, Michael, Blaine and Addie.

Fay was the oldest daughter of Frank and Elizabeth LeSeure. Her siblings are the late Barbara Joan, Karolyn, Victor and Gail. Fay was born in Detroit, Michigan and graduated from Redford High School. In 1949, she enlisted in the United States Air Force and while stationed at Keesler Air Force Base, MS she met her husband Sgt. Arthur Dowding (United States Air Force). They were also stationed in Montana, then later Japan, after Art had served in the Korean War.

In 1955 Fay’s family moved to Clawson, Michigan and years later became a family of six. After raising her four sons, she was employed as a clerk for First of America Bank Corporation. She enjoyed spending time with her family and longtime friend Barbara Burman.

Elizabeth’s funeral arrangements will be directed by Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, Madison Heights, Michigan. Her find a place of rest will be at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkeley, Michigan.
