Hong was born on February 10, 1936, in Quang Binh, Vietnam. She came to the United States on January 1, 1990 along with her two children: Thanh and Phillip Nguyen, and resided in Lansing, Michigan. She was a strong mother and grandmother with deep faith in Christ and loved everyone she'd meet. She took on the role of taking care of her grandchildren from when they were born until they were grown. The grandchildren were the joy and light of her life.
Hong enjoyed praying, cooking, gardening, going on walks, and reading books while swing in the hammock. More importantly, she enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren doing fun, silly things or just relaxing by them. Due her declining health in 2018, she began physical therapy at Pomeroy, in Sterling Heights, Michigan. She then was transitioned to assisted living to receive care from the wonderful staffs and nurses there.
Hong is survived by her children Hoa Thi Nguyen, Hong Thi Nguyen, Thanh Thi Nguyen & Dung Tien Pham (Son in-law), Phi (Phillip) Long Nguyen & Kim Tran (Daughter-in-law) as well has her 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
