Mark A. Helms

Mark Allan Helms age 50, passed away Friday May 6th, 2016 at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital. Mark was preceded in death by his mother Mary. Mark is survived by his beloved wife Helene, loving father Jim and cherished family members. The only child of Jim and Mary, Mark was born in Cadillac, Michigan and raised in Madison Heights, Michigan. Mark attended Lamphere High School where he was active in the school's football and theatre programs. After graduating Mark went on to proudly attend Eastern Michigan University, where he graduated with a degree in teaching. Though he came in at a stature 6'4" Mark was described as a 'gentle giant' who loved kids and animals alike. A huge music fan, Mark often wrote and composed his own material. He is singing to the angels now. Mark was a sweet soul, whose perception of life and its situations was matched by few. His input, wisdom, sass and humor will be sorely missed to those who knew and loved him most. The family will receive friends to celebrate Mark's life on Monday May 23rd, 2016 from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M.
