For the past 25 plus years i've lived across from Virginia.  But in the past 1 1/2yrs I was fortunate to have been involved in helping her live just a little more comfortable.  During my time which was mostly in the evenings, we would sit and watch the Bachelor , Dancing with the Stars (go figure) and American Idol. 
 Our time was after I was somewhat forced into retirement due to my disability.  Sometimes it was apparent that God had a plan for both of us.  She was there to help me deal with my ordeal in so many ways.  
She would constantly tell me I should have been a nurse and it was not too late to go back to school.  She would tell me I would have to wait until she was gone because she needed me.  "You need me?"  "I think I need you" I would say!  
She never would cry or get mad for the longest time.  She was very independent to the point she would tell me she would walk to bed and I would wait as long as it would take or I would have to trick her into thinking it was her idea and I would have to help her sit on her seat of her walker then push her.  On days that she would hurt so much and feel terribly she would ask if she was going to have company and I would say "No" she still would get dressed and put on her make up.  
Sometimes I would be sitting on the floor soaking her feet and trimming her toe nails.  When I was done I would try to get up off the floor, which was a site for sore eyes due to my disability.  She would ask if I needed help and we would laugh.  Yep Virginia you just push that button and tell them that Ann's down and she can't get up.
She would have birds flying around in the basement and Kathy running up the stairs and me trying to send my dog Maddie down there to chase them up and out.  All the while Virg sitting in her chair watching her old movies not bothering as to what was going on-- but then claiming she heard noises in her house early that morning.  
I've learned so much from that women!  I loved her and told her so every night as I would kiss her goodnight and tell her I would see her the next day or unless she needed me during the night.
She is MY ANGEL from up above!
