Ada Evelyn Hudson, 84, of Madison Heights passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Frank Hewitt Hudson. Born September 27, 1932, in Amherst, she was the daughter of the late Allie Lincoln Martin and the late Mary Lou Hartless Martin.
Ada was a homemaker and a devoted member of Calvary Cross Baptist Church. She was a faithful servant to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Ada was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ada was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Ada is survived by her children Frank L. Hudson, Sr. (Barbara) of Lynchburg, Ronnie R. Hudson (Sharon) of Madison Heights, Edward Wayne Hudson (Pamela) of Madison Heights, Patricia A. Austin (Tony) of Madison Heights and Dale Hudson (Tracey) of Madison Heights; two sisters, Ann Marsh of Lynchburg and Doris Raines (Junior) of Lynchburg; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at Calvary Cross Baptist Church with Evangelist Earl Clarkson and Pastor E. Wayne Hudson officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and/or Calvary Cross Baptist Church.
